How this manifests depends on the subject: cultists may appears to have gears subtly worked into their clothing while a demon or angel may be surrounded by a sourceless ticking. The manifestations are always stronger around those more closely tied to the Machine’s plans.

Dramatic Failure: The Demon’s allies are implicated by the signs: lose access to Merits like Staff, Mentor, Retainer, Allies, Contacts, or True Friend for a day as well as suffering a -2 penalty to Social rolls.
Failure: The signs appear but remain indistinct. Gain the Obsessed Condition for a day.
Success: For the scene the demon can detect beings and objects with connections to the God-Machine.
Exceptional Success: Not only do they gain the above effects but the signs also reveal some of their Cipher as if they rolled a successful Cipher roll.
