Clare claims demons came from somewhere, that the God-Machine merely repurposed them. She not the only one to have such ideas. But her vision of what demons are is unique. She thinks they are transformed humans.

She intends to reclaim her humanity even if she has to carve her demonic nature away bit by bit.
